Wampanoag and Eskimo Transportation
Wampanoag transportation
The Wampanoag used birch bark canoes. They also made dugout canoes by huge trees. They used them for transportation by rowing up and down oceans and rivers. They also used them to travel. The Wampanoag were hunter/gathers so they moved a lot but seemed to stay in the Massachusetts area. They sometimes used dogs as pack wolves to carry things from to and fro. It was easy to make these things because they had so many trees around.
Eskimo transportation
Dog sleds were commonly used for the hauling of heavy loads over long distances, made necessary by the Eskimo’s nomadic hunting life. They also used animal skin canoes to travel up and down the river and ocean. Dogsleds were easy because the ground was very icy and flat so it was easy to pull a sled along.
